Because it’s that time of year to toss your foundation and opt for a lighter version.
As we approach June and the weather is getting warmer and warmer each day, no one wants to feel a heavy layer of makeup on their face. This layer of makeup mixed with heat or sweat, is asking for break outs. So let’s avoid that all together.
You may think it’s time to ditch the moisturizer to avoid oiliness, but the opposite is true. Skipping moisturizer will leave your skin dry and lead to more oil production to make up for the lack of moisture. This excess oil can and almost definitely will clog your pores and give you some nice ol’ pimples and white heads. Be sure to skip the heavy creams and opt for a lighter moisturizer to balance.
A great alternative to foundation is tinted moisturizer. This helps to keep your skin plump and even out your skin tone and is very light. It’s almost like it’s a your-skin-but-better kind of thing, and who doesn’t want that? The great thing about this is, it’s so lightweight you could even wear it to the beach and no one will even notice your wearing makeup!
To get that glowy look, you want to avoid anything that looks like/is powder based. You know those times you’ve accidentally applied too much highlight and it actually looks caked on? Yeah, no. None of that please. My personal favorite is Glossier Haloscope in Moonstone. You warm it up with your finger and pat in on wherever you want a bit of extra shine.
If you haven’t gotten the chance to hit the beach yet and are still lacking that bronzey look, contouring with a shimmery bronzer can help you add that bit of glow you may or may not be lacking. Or you could go for Tan-Luxe The Face Illuminating Self Tan Drops that you add to your moisturizer for a natural looking glow.
A key to clear and glowing skin and taking care of it. After you cleanse and tone, throwing on a calming or moisturizing sheet mask or overnight mask can help give your skin that extra kick it may need. You can also opt for radiance or brightening masks!
